The Refuging Pavillion is an outgrowth of a conceptual art project developed and led by Rejmyre Art Lab’s co-founder Daniel Peltz and designed by the renowned Danish architect Kristoffer Tejlgaard (the architect behind the “Dome of Visions” that stood at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm from 2015-17).
The pavillion was constructed as one part of the research strand Refuging. It was built, in 2022, by residents of Rejmyre, artists and members of the surrounding communities, through a ritualized, public construction process (choreographed by Daniel Peltz and Anna Asplind).
The building now serves as a meeting place where we host seminars, gatherings, and workshops. The Refuging Pavillion also serves as a project studio (for artists in the surrounding regions) who use the studio to explore the concept of Refuging in relation to their diverse practices.
You can find the Refuge at Glasbruksvägen 42 in Rejmyre, right next to the Exhibition Hall Engelska Magasinet.
