Rejmyre Art Lab presents the artistic practice of Saad Hajo in the glassworks at Reijmyre Glass Factory.
“My project is based on exploring the conflict between good and evil, constructive and destructive forces, and the role of humanity in this struggle. Those who plant forests on one side, and those who cut down trees on the other. Humanity always leaves behind residues that, unfortunately, can be harmful to the environment and threaten life on Earth – threaten human life and its existence! My role as a satirical cartoonist is to highlight problems and exaggerate them, illustrating them with a great deal of imagination in order to reach the viewer through both laughter and deep reflection.” – Saad Hajo
Saad Hajo is based in Norrköping, born in Damascus in 1968, and is one of Sweden’s leading satirical cartoonists. His project was part of the research strand and residency program Detox – Clean it up!
