About Daniel Peltz’s work during the Performing Labour ensemble residency, from the Perforing Labour product catalouge:
“This special technique for rendering the specific character of the actions of labour, in solid glass, can make the perfect portrait product for the modern labour consumer. In place of the typical product drawing, the labour portrait designer ‘writes’ a series of actions using a custom-designed symbolic language representing the actions of glass blowing. Each worker interprets the symbolic phrase in their own manner, creating a unique portrait of labour and labourer alike. For customers enamoured by the glassblowing process, looking to take a little more of a glassworker home with them.”
